50th Anniversary Celebration Print E-mail
Small Parts celebrated 50 years in business on Aug. 24 with an event attended by approximately 1,000 employees, family members and special guests.

Small Parts has been operating continuously in Logansport since 1958. The company started in a rented building with 4,000 square feet at 707 Burlington Ave. In 1975, Small Parts became a wholly owned subsidiary of Materials Processing Inc., a private locally based holding company.

Small Parts manufactures custom precision stampings and subassemblies for the automotive, electrical, electronic and consumer products industries.
Small Parts Inc. has received the Half Century Business Award from the State of Indiana. Gov. Mitch Daniels and Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman presented the award in a ceremony at the Statehouse. The award is given to companies that have operated in Indiana for 50 years or more while demonstrating a high level of community involvement. Small Parts representatives chairman John E. Barnes, Chief Executive Officer Clay T. Barnes and President Clay E. Jackson accepted the award. Barnes was one of the founding shareholders of Small Parts in 1958.
Half Century Award
Barnes also received the Sagamore of the Wabash Award during the 50th anniversary celebration for Small Parts at its headquarters in Logansport. The distinction, considered the highest honor a governor can bestow on one of its citizens, was presented by Sen. Tom Weatherwax on behalf of Gov. Daniels.

Barnes also received the Key to the City during the 50th anniversary celebration for Small Parts at its headquarters in Logansport. This distinction was presented by Mayor Michael E. Fincher.

Proclamation and Key to City
We are pleased to announce plans for an on-site medical clinic to be housed at the Mildred St. facility in Logansport, Indiana. This innovative medical service is the latest step in our continuing efforts to promote excellent health for you and your family at an affordable cost to you and the company.

Providing medical services on-site is not new for some large employers but it is only a dream for smaller companies. When our clinic becomes operational in 2009, MPI and its subsidiaries will be among a select group of companies of our size around the country who have taken this important step in promoting your welfare and the welfare of your family.
